since the babi weather refrains me from going anywhere, I shall start blogging about my trip!

although the first city I reached was
Christchurch, we spent only one night there and then took early bus to
Dunedin the second day, the most (
almost) south city in New Zealand. freaking 5 hours okay!
it's the first time for us to be exposed to typical scenery that can be seen in Fernleaf Milk adv, sheep, cows, snow capped mountains and lakes. We were so jakun, as usual, looked in amazement. I was like "so the saying that the amount of sheep is more than homo sapiens in nz is freaking true!"
At about lunch time, we reached Dunedin, welcomed by
Moli and
Puai Yee. I never really talked to Puai Yee when we were in Intec (because we were never in the same class or clique?), but hey she's such a nice and friendly gal! she even bought me muaci from a korean grocery store awww

Trust me, Dunedin is all about
walking! I guess 80% of the roads are steep and we had to walk everywhere as the town (oh wait issit a town or city? lol) is not really big .
and it was real cold over there. when we reached chch for the first night, we were like ohh so nz is not THAT cold afterall, so we happily wore tees and jacket (yes without thermal) to Dunedin, but we
ARE SO WRONG! Can u imagine it's only 10degree celcius in the afternoon? When we finally got smart and wore 4 layers of clothing plus beannie plus gloves, my nose still hurt due to the extreme coldness.
but anyway
Dunedin is a very small, beautiful, peaceful city. It's like u won't have to worry about anything in this town, the hustle and bustle of city, the stress no, nothing. Everyone lives in harmony and u can feel the warmth no matter how cold the weather is.
**note: special credit to Puai Yee for the photos! =) **
The two pretty hosts brought us to their uni,
University of Otago, first (actually I don't really remember the chronological order haha).

and I came to realise that Maori language is pretty important in nz, almost every english title or name comes with Maori translation.
Unlike Curtin, Otago does not really have its own uni area, as in the uni buildings are spread all over the city, but hey Otago is just as pretty as Melbourne Uni!

the clock tower in Otago. It's so nice right? I love Hogwart-ish buildings, a lot and a lot!
y la we don have anything like this here T__T

we met a few malay gals who also came on vacation from oz! I simply love this photo =)
sometimes the scenery is so mesmerising that we want to explore it more,

like chasing ducks in uni

then we walked about 30 minutes out of the city to the World's Steepest Road,
Baldwin Street (according to Guinness Book of Record). Wow sounds pretty cool right?

we were so jakun that every time we walked pass a street, we would be like "eh eh eh eh is this the one?", then moli and puai yee shook their head very very hard and said no, the cycle continued.
by the time we reached, it's almost 5 and yes during winter 5pm is the exact time when the sky gets dark.
initially we planned to conquer the street by running up and down it several times (some planned to have a match some more), but it was freezing cold and gals like us,
who are not really good in sports, got so exhausted when the botakwin street came into sight.

see! it IS steep! the houses around look like old folk's home to me, can't really imagine if obasan ojiisan havta climb all the way up to their home okay i'm just crapping.
so we camwhored instead!

baldwin far behind us, we din even bother to walk there to take photos.
And we went to the infamous
Cadbury Chocolate Factory in Dunedin!

the ticket costs me 14bucks. I guess cadbury is real smart in earning $$.
the whole factory is purple in colour, the fav colour of st, claire and "sien" omg i must stop gossiping, like now!
I'm never a choc lover. don't u think choc is just tooooo yuckily sweet? my throat will feel very uncomfortable if i have more than 2, yea i know i sound weird as a gal, who's supposed to go awwww whenever she sees choc.

but anyway i still befriend mr.cadbury okay!
before the tour started, we were given a briefing by a very cute lady in a very cute purple overalls.

she speaks really really fast and i can see that she loves her job very much dunno y.
then she brought us around the factory, introduced us to different kinda choc (ewww..!) but photos are not allowed in there so sorry!

and we got free choc!! best part of the tour muahahaha. even more if u can answer her qns correctly, like.. how many ppl in this world is eating this choc and etc

the whole tour thing didn't take long so after that we went to
Anzac Square, Dunedin railway station which is well-known for its unique architecture.

the wind was ultra strong that time. my hair was messy like hell so no camwhore photo will be posted here heh.
we went to
George Street, the only street Otago-ians hang out (claimed by Puai Yee) to shop.
we were in Jayjay, waiting for Puai Yee to try on checker, out of the blue, it started to
snow!

although it's just mild snowing, the snow disappeared as soon as it touched the ground, i still felt very excited!
we were like "omg is that snow? faster take photo fast!!"
and some kiwi students beside us sighed "arghhh it snows again!!" eh they should be more grateful okay! tsk tsk tsk *shakes head*
we went to
Capers Restaurant, famous for its humongous pancake.

the pancake is filled with all sorts of fruits and it consists of 2 layers! so filling can!
it doesn't appear yummy to me, so I got myself fettuccine carbonara

which is a 3-coloured pasta? it is so yummilicious i love it so much!
i wanted to get myself another plate but it is very very exp.
and then the most important part of Dunedin stay!!!
authentic malaysian food prepared by Tharma and Moli!!

at Tharma's house. see how happy they are to prepare food for us?
and trust me, they can cook very very well! i'll never cook for them to reveal how sucky my cooking skill is haha
but too bad i had this sudden toothache that shut me up for the whole night. sigh. hence the emo post from dunedin 390848734 years ago.
i went for dentist the next morning, thinking that i cant really endure the pain for another 21 days. Moli is being so nice that she woke up early at 0830 to check and call the dentist for me. She even walked me there, when everyone was still sleeping soundly, and waited for me patiently in the clinic. Moli i really owe u a big one! the instant noodle that u asked from me doesn't really count =p
anyway after that, we camwhored again. as Tharma was the only guy, surrounded by 7 pretty gals..

notice the hidden meaning of this photo? 7 gals serving our king!
Puai Yee with garlic, Jai with cards, me holding his crown, yf presenting magazines, lw with oranges, yt with med, moli who's not doing anything will be eliminated very soon hahaha.
and I found this very cute crossword puzzles on Tharma's fridge.

and we had fun forming weird sentences, such as

and..

me no speak englishy =p
despite the extreme weather and forever steep roads and streets, Dunedin is special in its own way
Moli, Jai, Puai Yee and Tharma u guys are really good hosts can! although we only spent 2 days together, i really had loads of fun, and thanks heaps for the meal!

fyi, this is only the first 2 days of my nz trip. heh.
